My recollection of the days that followed her death is a mix of vivid flash-bulb memories and blurs of complex emotions. Among those unfortunate casualties in the shuddering of THQ was Darksiders 2 developer Vigil Games, who was not picked up in the auction proper. It didn’t spell outright doom for the company at the time, however a public letter from Lead Combat Designer Ben Cureton suggests things are looking grim for the developer. In the letter Cureton paints a bleak picture of a developer that has been gutted, where all that remains are empty chairs....

Overtime, through a series of character and class reveals, it became increasingly clear that Dead Island was not going to be an emotionally-charged scramble for survival (as the trailer seemed to indicate); rather, the first person shooter title was going for a somewhat cartoonish, and especially bloody, trek through a post-zombpocalyptic landscape - as a result the latest Dead Island trailer, highlighting the co-op gameplay (and f-bombs), is especially reminiscent of another zombie-liquidation co-op title....

The finalized cover image, which will be the same across all three platforms (PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3), depicts a pretty grizzly scene. The cover shows off - in the now-familiar art style of Deep Silver - several hapless resort visitors being overtaken by the, for lack of a better term, zombification process. Nothing has been revealed on how the people in Dead Island became zombies, nor has it been mentioned if the game itself will reveal the answers to that question, so we’ll just have to sit back and enjoy our tiki-themed cover....

It also reached the impressive figure of 1 million copies sold soon after, proving itself in the face of tough competition of like Ryse: Son of Rome and Call of Duty: Ghosts, succeeding in being one of the Xbox One’s most popular launch titles....

Josh Bridge, the executive producer behind Dead Rising 3, walked us through some components of the forthcoming third-person zombie survival game. Reconfirming that the game is an Xbox One exclusive, Bridge talked us through some of the options players will have in the game’s massive open-world environment. Kicking off the demo on a zombie-infested city street, we’re introduced to the game’s main character Nick. As the the player runs about utilizing items found laying around, it soon becomes obvious that the hundreds of undead sauntering in the streets will pose a massive challenge for anyone attempting to travel by foot....

While Dead Space 2 brought online multiplayer to the franchise, many critics - including our own review - did not feel it was a highlight of the game. While the multiplayer portion of Dead Space could use more depth, it appears that this job listing is not for the franchise, as it makes specific reference to a “bold new franchise.” A shame really, as Dead Space 2’s multiplayer had a ton of (unrealized) potential....

Speaking at LA’s annual E3 event this past week, EA Labels President Patrick Soderlund expressed his belief in the franchise’s bright future, calling it “a brand that is close to Electronic Arts’ heart.” Though no sequels were officially outed, the director did tout the “exciting” work being done by Visceral Games on their latest project, an unnamed Star Wars title still in the embryonic stages of development. A 20-year-old Black man, Wright died in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, on Sunday afternoon after being shot by a police officer. According to the Brooklyn Center Police Department, Wright’s car was stopped over an alleged traffic violation, before officers realized the driver had an outstanding warrant. As they tried to take the driver into custody, he returned to the vehicle, prompting one of the officers to open fire. Wright’s death came approximately 11 miles north of the south Minneapolis location where George Floyd died while in police custody in Minneapolis on May 25 last year after being arrested on suspicion of passing a counterfeit $20 bill....

The anthem titled “Roar Machaa” has been composed and sung by Bollywood score composer and singer Amit Trivedi. The anthem captures the vibes of the city with its lyrics, which have also been written by Trivedi. The video features most of the iconic locations of the capital which play host to the Delhi Capitals’ fans and players, who can be seen enjoying the beats of the anthem. While launching the anthem, Trivedi said: “It’s been an absolute honour and great fun working on this year’s anthem for the Delhi Capitals....

Juliana Carlos, better known by her appointed stage name “Courtside Karen,” was kicked out of Monday night’s Lakers vs. Hawks game in Atlanta after getting a lot bit rowdy with LeBron James, cursing James out and blaming James for getting aggressive with her husband. (In fact, all James seemingly uttered in her husband’s direction was “Ol’ steroid ass,” which seems hilarious to type.) Carlos went on an expletive-laden tirade on her Instagram account after the ejection, placing the blame on James, while James said he welcomed the back-and-forth with the fans and said they shouldn’t have gotten the quick hook....

In case you didn’t know… After winning three consecutive Champions League titles and scoring 450 goals over nine seasons, Ronaldo ended his stint with Real Madrid last summer. Los Blancos’ greatest goalscorer moved to Juventus and later revealed that he left because he felt he was no longer indispensable at the Spanish capital.
