The case remains unsolved more than five years after the bodies of Abby Williams and Libby German were found in a wooded area near a hiking trail in Delphi in 2017. But a transcript of a conversation between police and a man named Kegan Kline gives more information as officers continue looking into the girls’ disappearance and death, WISH-TV reported.
Just days after the girls died, police began looking into Kline, WISH-TV reported. It was later revealed that Kline was connected to a fake social media account, “anthony_shots,” which had been using phony photos of male models to communicate with underage girls.
As part of the investigation, in December of 2021, the Indiana State Police asked the public for any information in connection to the profile.
The papers showed that Kline had communicated with German using the account. During the 2020 interview with police, he admitted talking to the girl.
When asked by police if he remembered admitting that he chatting with her at a sleepover and then later blocking her for being “annoying,” Kline responded that he did.
Also, during the interview with investigators, WISH-TV reported, Kline said he used the account to obtain photos and videos of a sexual nature featuring underage girls.
Additionally, detectives pressed Kline on a conversation he had with one of German’s friends via the account after her death.
WISH-TV also pointed out that detectives mentioned that Kline’s phone search history included several about the Delphi case. After failing a polygraph test, investigators asked why Kline would delete his Snapchat and Instagram accounts used to talk to German.
The transcript showed that police pointed out that Kline was deceptive during a polygraph test when he was asked if he knew who killed the two girls, WISH-TV reported.
Police also believe that at least two people were using the accounts, as they pointed out the login and logout times and the difference in wording. However, WISH-TV reported that Kline said he wasn’t sure who else might have used or had access to the account.
The investigation is continuing and no one has been charged.
The 2020 interview between Kline and the police took place after he was arrested on felony child porn charges in connection to the fake account.
Kline, WISH-TV reported, is due in court on April 14 after he was charged in August of 2020 with 30 felonies regarding possession of child porn and child exploitation. None of the charges are in connection to the unsolved death of Williams and German.
