SOE president John Smedley, on his twitter account, alerted any would-be-purchasers of DC Universe that though the game is currently available only in limited quantities, more are on the way. As a side note, he also thought fit to reveal the game’s success as it relates to the company.

Also has part of his twitter announcements, Smedley proclaimed that DC Universe was also number one in sales on Steam last week. The stock shortages and sales success on steam Steam make clear that DC Universe Online, despite generating some unfavorable impressions, has really struck a chord with a large number of gamers.

Speaking on the topic of getting off to a rough start, SOE came out to calm any gamers’ fears that DC Universe’s experience would remain as problematic as it has been out of the gate, saying that they are working to make the game more stable and more user friendly. Furthermore, they are also working on eliminating the profanity filter, but that will come at a later date.  Tony Jones, SOE’s Community Relations Manager, detailed just how dedicated the team is to their fan base.

Still in its relative infancy, DC Universe Online has plenty of time to evolve into the MMO experience it is meant to be. With very little competition on the PS3 at the moment, and a developer that is devoted to improving the experience — listening to fan feedback and prioritizing solutions — DC Universe owners can rest assured that when their 30-day subscription needs to be renewed, they can gladly decide to continue playing.

Any gamers out there who picked up DC Universe Online seeing any improvements being made to the game? Besides the issues addressed by Jones, what other areas do you think need improving in the game?

DC Universe Online is available now for the PS3 and PC.
