Who Is In ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’?

Riley Keough, the actress best known for The Girlfriend Experience, Mad Max: Fury Road and American Honey—as well as for being the granddaughter of Elvis Presley—is playing Daisy Jones.

Announcing the news on Instagram in November 2019, Keough wrote: “I’m so honored to be your Daisy.”

Her co-stars include Peaky Blinders and Hunger Games actor Claflin, Camila Morrone from Mickey and the Bear, Suki Waterhouse from A Rainy Day in New York and Valley Girl’s Josh Whitehouse.

Up-and-coming actors Nabiyah Be, Will Harrison and Sebastian Chacon will also star.

What Is ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ About?

Daisy Jones & The Six is an adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name.

It centers on the professional and private lives of a rock band in the 1970s, tracking their rise to the top and subsequent fall.

The series will be documentary-style, featuring background interviews with the fictional band and original music, with lyrics from the book.

Jenkins Reid has said Daisy Jones & The Six was inspired by the tumultuous history of Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac.

In a guest post for the Hello Sunshine website, she wrote: “I kept coming back to that moment when Lindsey [Buckingham] watched Stevie [Nicks] sing ‘Landslide.’ How it looked so much like two people in love. And yet, we’ll never truly know what lived between them.

“I wanted to write a story about that, about how the lines between real life and performance can get blurred, about how singing about old wounds might keep them fresh.”

“With Neustadter and Weber, two writers I deeply admire, stewarding this project, I am so confident that Daisy and her band’s journey toward finding their voice will leave just as permanent a mark with viewers around the world as it did with me.”
